+ I’m not sure if I need an OSAP Affidavit. How do I know if I need to submit one with my OSAP application?

Usually, OSAP or your student financial services office will let you know that you need to submit an OSAP affidavit. If you aren’t sure, contact your college or university’s student financial services department for help.

+ I have questions about OSAP. Where can I go for help?

If you have questions about OSAP or need help with your OSAP application, contact your financial aid office or the National Student Loans Service Centre.

+ The person who needs to sign the OSAP affidavit (myself, my spouse or my parent) is outside of Ontario. How can the OSAP affidavit be notarized?

You, your parent or your spouse can take the OSAP affidavit to a notary in your current location. For example, if you are a student who goes to university in Ontario but are currently living in British Columbia, you can take your OSAP affidavit to a notary in British Columbia for signature. You can use Downtown Notary’s online notary services which are available to persons outside of Ontario.

+ I used the OSAP Affidavit Tool to create my affidavit but I haven’t received it by email. What should I do?

First, check your junk or spam mail folder to see if the affidavit was sent there accidentally. Second, if it’s not in your junk mail folder, email us at info@downtown-notary.ca. We will send you a PDF copy of your affidavit as soon as possible.
